Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd University handed West Virginia State a 3-0 setback in MEC volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Friday night. The Rams posted a 25-13, 25-20, 25-23 victory.
Junior outside hitter
Amanda Snowden (Hagerstown, Md./Smithsburg) led the Rams (8-13, 3-4 MEC) with 11 kills. Freshman outside hitter
Peyton Lindblad (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) added nine kills and five blocks, while freshman outside hitter
Jaila Bell (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) had seven kills and nine digs.
Sophomore setter
Becca Kern (Martinsburg, W.Va./Musselman) contributed a match-high 18 assists, and junior libero
Kelsey Anderson (Leesburg, W.Va./Loudoun County) had a team-high 10 digs.
Rebekah Baldwin had eight kills to lead West Virginia State (3-14, 1-5 MEC). Brooke Cieslewski added a match-high 16 digs.
Shepherd rallied from a 22-20 deficit in the third set to gain the sweep. The Rams ended the set on a 5-1 run – fueled by kills from Lindblad, senior outside hitter
