Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (8-15, 3-7 MEC) dropped a 3-2 decision to West Liberty (18-11, 6-5 MEC) in MEC volleyball action on Saturday at the Butcher Center. The Hilltoppers rallied for a 20-25, 23-25, 25-23, 25-12, 15-9 win.
Freshman outside hitters
Jaila Bell (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) and
Peyton Lindblad (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) each recorded a match-high 15 kills for the Rams. Bell had a double-double with 17 digs, and sophomore setter
Becca Kern Martinsburg, W.Va./Musselman) posted 29 assists and 10 digs.
Junior libero
Kelsey Anderson (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) had a team-high 19 digs and freshman libero
Imani Major (Gainesville, Va./Millbrook) contributed 12.
Olivia Baumhoer had 13 kills and Sydney Scherer added 12 to pace the Hilltoppers. Kailee Cunningham had match-high 29 digs.
The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to Urbana for a 7 p.m. match.
Amanda Snowden posted eight kills
Imani Major had 12 digs.
Jaila Belle had 15 kills and 17 digs.
Kesley Anderson recorded 19 digs.
