Fairmont State Downs Shepherd Volleyball in Four Sets

Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (8-19, 3-10 MEC) dropped a 3-1 decision to Fairmont State (16-12, 8-5 MEC) in MEC volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Tuesday night. The Fighting Falcons rallied for a 22-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-14 win.

Freshman outside hitter Peyton Lindblad (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) recorded 14 kills to lead the Rams.
Senior outside hitter/right side Grace Simmons (Centreville, Va./Centreville) added nine kills with a match-best .500 attack percentage, while junior outside hitter Amanda Snowden (Hagerstown, Md./Smithsburg) also had nine kills.

Freshman setter Jessica Karcz Westminster, Md./Westminster) recorded a career-high 39 assists and freshman libero Imani Major (Gainesville, Va./Millbrook) contributed a match-high 14 digs. Junior libero Kelsey Anderson (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) added nine digs.

Mackenzie Harrison recorded 18 kills and nine digs, while Jessica Furda added 41 assists and 12 digs to pace the Falcons.

The Rams return to action on Friday when they host West Virginia Wesleyan at 7 p.m. for Senior Night.
