Box Score ERIE, Pa. – Senior guard Cara Mason (Monrovia, Md./Urbana) scored 21 points and junior guard Morgan Arden (Hanover, Pa./Spring Grove) added 18 to lead Shepherd University (2-1) to a 66-53 win over Gannon University (0-3) in women's basketball action at Gannon on Wednesday night.

Mason connected on 6-of-15 shots from the floor with a 9-of-10 effort from the foul line. She added nine rebounds, five assists, and five steals.

Arden hit on 7-of-13 field goals with a 2-of-6 effort from three point range. She was 2-of-4 from the charity stripe.

Senior forward Liz Myers (York, Pa./Eastern York) had 12 points, nine boards, three blocks and a pair of steals.

Maggie Mitchell scored a game-high 30 points to lead Gannon. Lanise Saunders added eight points and nine rebounds.

The Rams outscored the Golden Knights 20-10 in the fourth period to pull away for the victory. Mason had 10 points in the period.

Shepherd shot 38.1 percent (24-63) from the floor with a 22.7 percent effort (5-22) from three-point range for the game. The Rams shot 72.2 percent (13-18) from the charity stripe.

Gannon connected on 32 percent (16-50) from the floor with a 37.5 percent (6-16) performance from beyond the arc. The Golden Knights hit on 83.3 percent (15-18) of their free throws.

Gannon had a 39-37 edge on the boards. Shepherd forced 23 turnovers and committed just 11.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Glenville State for a 4 p.m. contest. Fans presenting a ticket stub from the Assumption-Shepherd football game will gain free admission to the game and the men's game that follows at 6 p.m.
