Shepherd Women Fall to Glenville State

Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN,W.Va. – Paris McLeod scored 18 points and Courtney Davis added 16 points and nine rebounds to lead Glenville State (3-0, 1-0 MEC) to an 84-67 win over Shepherd University (2-2,0-1 MEC) in MEC women's basketball action at the Butcher Center on Saturday.

Junior guard Morgan Arden (Hanover, Pa./Spring Grove) led the Rams with 18 points on an 8-of-15 effort from the floor with a 2-of-3 performance from the foul line. She added a team-high four assists.

Senior guard Cara Mason (Monrovia, Md./Urbana) added 15 points, while senior forward Liz Myers (York, Pa./Eastern York) recorded a double-double with 10 points and a career-high 19 rebounds.

Junior guard Kayla Tibbs (Leesburg, Va./Heritage/Glenville State) added nine points against her former team.

Five players were in double figures for the Pioneers as Maya Horne had 12 points and Brittany Jackson chipped in with 10.

Glenville State outscored Shepherd 24-10 in the fourth period to pull away for the victory.

Shepherd shot 42.6 percent (29-68) from the floor with a 20 percent effort (1-5) from three-point range for the game. The Rams shot 61.5 percent (8-13) from the charity stripe.

Glenville State connected on 25.8 percent (29-81) from the floor with a 29.7 percent (11-37) performance from beyond the arc. The Pioneers hit on 65.2 percent (15-23) of their free throws.

Rebounds were even at 48-all. Shepherd forced 12 turnovers and committed 23.

The Rams return to action on Monday when they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
