Box Score SAN JUAN, P.R. – Junior guard Morgan Arden (Hanover, Pa./Spring Grove) scored 12 points, while senior forward Liz Myers (York, Pa./Eastern York) and junior guard Kayla Tibbs (Leesburg, Va./Heritage) each added 10 to lead Shepherd University (4-7) to a 67-50 win over lead University of Puerto Rico-Bayamon in women's basketball action in Puerto Rico on Friday.

Myers also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds to post her second double-double of the season.

Freshman guard Lauren Reed (Winchester, Va./Millbrook) was credited with eight points.

The Rams took control of the contest in the first quarter as they opened up a 16-point advantage. Puerto Rico-Bayaman whittled the lead to single digits in the third period, but Shepherd closed the period strong to tak a 15-point lead into the final stanza.

Shepherd shot 43.9 percent (25-57) from the floor with a 61.5 percent effort (8-13) from three-point range for the game. The Rams shot 64.3 percent (9-14) from the charity stripe.

University of Puerto Rico-Bayamon connected on 36.5 percent (19-52) from the floor with a 12.5 percent (2-16) performance from beyond the arc. UPRB hit on 40 percent (10-25) of their free throws.

Shepherd had a 49-26 advantage in rebounds. Shepherd forced 20 turnovers and committed 27.

The Rams return to action on Dec. 30 when they host Virginia State at 5:30 p.m.
