Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Lauren Langenderfer scored a game-high 25 points to lead Notre Dame College (15-8, 12-5 MEC) to a 92-69 win over Shepherd University (5-18, 4-13 MEC) in MEC women's basketball action at Notre Dame on Thursday.
Sophomore guard
Morgan Arden (Hanover, Pa./Spring Grove) led the Rams with 18 points and a game-high five steals. She also added three assists.
Junior forward
Liz Myers (York, Pa./Eastern York) added 12 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Freshman forward
Elizabeth Moorman (New Market, Md./Oakdale) tossed in a career-high 11 points, while sophomore guard
Tiffany McKinney (Edgewater, Md./South River/Anne Arundel CC) had nine.
Kim Cook had 18 points and Martha Nagbe added 17 for the Falcons. Hope Thorbahn posted a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards.
Notre Dame had a 44-37 lead at halftime.
The Falcons pulled away in the third quarter as they outscored the Rams, 28-14.
The Rams connected on 44.3 percent (27-61) from the floor with a 27.3 percent (3-11) performance from three-point range. Shepherd hit on 57.1 percent of its free throws (12-21). Notre Dame hit on 53.1 percent (34-64) of its field goals with a 38.1 percent (8-21) effort from beyond the arc. The Falcons were successful on 66.7 percent (16-24) of their free throws.
Notre Dame had a 42-29 advantage in rebounding. Turnovers were even at 18 apiece.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Urbana for a 2 p.m. contest.
