SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- The 1975-76 team was honored at the West Virginia State-Shepherd men's basketball game last Saturday. for their outstanding accomplishments. The 75-76 squad posted a 33-3 overall mark and had the most wins of any collegiate team at any level that season. The team earned Shepherd's first regional championship when they defeated Monmouth (79-71) to capture the NCAA III South Atlantic Regional Championship. The 75-76 team set many records that still stand today including: most victories (33), best winning percentage (.917), most consecutive victories (22), most points scored (3,384), and most assists (942).
