Box Score BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – Tanner McGrew had 46 points and 18 rebounds to lead West Virginia Wesleyan (15-12, 10-11 MEC) to a 90-80 win over Shepherd University (15-12, 10-11 MEC) in MEC men's basketball action at West Virginia Wesleyan on Thursday night.
McGrew hit on 19-of-30 shots with an 8-of-13 effort from the foul line.
Junior guard
Naim Muhammad (Waldorf, Md./North Point) led the Rams with 30 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Senior forward
Ryan McTavish (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll/Presbyterian) added 19 points and seven boards, while sophomore guard
Steffen Davis (Accokeek, Md./Maret School) added 12 points.
Sophomore forward
AJ Carr (Fairfax, Va./Saint James School) added 11 points.
Fred Brondsted had 14 points and Garrett Grantham had 10 for the Bobcats.
McTavish hit a three-pointer with 58 seconds remaining in regulation to force the extra session. West Virginia Wesleyan outscored Shepherd, 17-7, in overtime to gain the win.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they Host Fairmont State for a 4 p.m. game.
