Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 DINWIDDIE, Va. – Shepherd University (3-3) went 1-1 on the day in baseball action on Sunday. The Rams dropped a 19-1 decision to East Stroudsburg in an early game and used an 18-hit attack to rebound with a 15-7 triumph over California (Pa.) in a later contest.

Junior infielder Brandon Kirk (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West) belted a three-run homer in the first inning for the Rams against Cal. Senior shortstop Tre Porter (Stephens City, Va./Sherando) added a three-run blast in the fourth and freshman catcher Christian Hamel (Pasadena, Md./IMG Academy), who led the Rams with four hits and six runs batted in,  smacked a three-run home run in the seventh to highlight the scoring attack.

Mick Fennell went 3-for-5 with a homer and a double to lead the Vulcans.

Freshman starter AJ Stead (Culpeper, Va./Eastern View) (6.2 IP, 9 H, 6 ER, 4 Ks, 3 BB) gained the win for the Rams. Carter Krick (1-1) took the loss for California (Pa.).

Matt Festa (7.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 8 Ks, 1 BB) picked up the win for the Warriors. Sophomore pitcher Dan Galati (Hockessin, Del./St. Elizabeth's) (3.0 IP, 8 H, 8 R, 7 ER, 3 Ks, 3 BB) took the loss for the Rams.

Steven Zimmerman went 3-for-3 with four runs batted in and a pair of runs scored to lead a 17-hit attack for the Warriors.

 Porter went 2-for-4 with a solo blast to lead the Rams against East Stroudsburg. Junior outfielder Ron Farley (Cockeysville, Md./Calvert Hall)  added a 2-for-4 effort.

The Rams are slated to return to action twice on Monday against yet to be determined opponents.
