Box Score 2 GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – Shepherd University (2-2) dropped a pair of games in final day softball action of the Pioneer Classic. The Rams dropped an 8-0 decision to Kutztown in the early game and came up on the short end of a 2-1 decision to Tusculum in a later contest.
Freshman first baseman
Connor Gilligan (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) singled home sophomore Sara North (Belcamp, Md./Harford Technical) in the fourth inning to give the Rams a 1-0 lead against Tusculum.
The Pioneers tied the game in the top of the sixth on an RBI-single by Emily Hester.
Hester doubled to plate Harper Ford with the game-winner in the eighth.
Gilligan went 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead the Rams against Tusculum.
Junior pitcher
Tara Hanson (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown) (8.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 5 K, 4 BB) (1-1) took the loss for the Rams. Cayla Cecil (5-0) picked up the win for Tusculum.
The Rams fell in five innings against Kutztown.
Sara Keeny went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI to lead the Golden Bears.

Kaitlyn Konopka (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) posted a 2-for-3 effort to pace the Rams.
Savannah Nierintz (1-2) scattered five hits to gain the win for the Golden Bears. Junior pitcher
