Box Score 2 SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (7-5, 2-0 MEC) swept Glenville State (3-14, 0-2 MEC) in MEC softball doubleheader action at Shepherd on Wednesday. Shepherd gained a 5-1 win in game one and added a 5-2 triumph in the nightcap.
The Rams took a 2-0 lead in the first inning in game one behind a two-run double off the bat of freshman third baseman

The Pioneers cut the lead to 2-1 in the top of the fourth as Charity Ramsey singled and later scored on a double by Mackenzie Smith.
Shepherd added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth on a three-run homer to right by freshman shortstop

Jessica Robinson (Glen Burnie, Md./Glen Burnie) each had a pair of hits for the Rams.
Sophomore pitcher Kaitlyn Munda (Nokesville, Va./Kettle Run) (6.0 IP, 6 H, 3 Ks, 0 BB) (4-1) gained the win with relief help from junior
Kirsten Barstad (Joppa, Md./Mercy) (1.0 IP 1 H, 0 R, 0 Ks, 0 BB). Samantha Weaver (6.0 IP, 10 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 4 Ks, 3 BB) took the loss for the Pioneers.

The Rams plated three runs in the fifth to earn the win. Taylor had a two-run single and later scored on a single by Robinson.

Courtney Clemons (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and Konopka added a pair of hits to lead the Rams.
Ally Brown and Cassidy Taylor each had two hits for the Pioneers.
Munda (4.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 3 Ks, 0 BB) (5-1) notched the win in relief. Brown (5.0 IP, 9 H, 5 ER, 2 Ks, 1 BB) took the loss for the Pioneers.
The Rams return to action on Thursday when they travel to Millersville for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
