INSTITUTE, W.Va. – Shepherd University (3-3, 1-1 MEC) handed West Virginia State (1-3, 0-1 MEC) a 9-0 setback in Mountain East Conference men's tennis action at West Virginia State on Sunday.

Junior Grant Davis (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Martinsburg) had a 6-3, 6-0 win in number one singles and teamed with sophomore Austin Thomas (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) for an 8-2 triumph at number one doubles to pace the Rams.

The Rams return to action on Thursday when they host West Virginia Wesleyan for a 3:30 p.m. match.
