SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University went 2-1 in tennis action at Shepherd on Sunday. The Shepherd men (8-8, 2-4 MEC) dropped a 6-3 decision to UVa-Wise and handed Salem International a 7-2 defeat. The Shepherd women (7-8) gained an 8-1 triumph over Salem International.

Sophomore Austin Thomas (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at number five singles to lead the Rams against Salam International.

Freshman Alisha Adkins (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) recorded a 6-2, 6-1 win at number one singles and teamed with freshman Zoie O'Neal (Hagerstown, Md/.Clear Spring) for an 8-1 win at number one doubles for the women.

The Shepherd men return to action on Saturday when they host Fairmont State at 11 a.m.
