Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 URBANA, Ohio – Shepherd University (17-8, 11-2) smacked 26 hits on the day en route to a sweep of Urbana (2-21, 1-12) in MEC softball doubleheader action at Urbana on Saturday. The Rams posted a 12-2 victory in game one and added a 10-0 win in the nightcap.

Junior outfielder Paige Buckworth (Elkton, Md./North East) led the Rams in game on as she went 3-for-3 and drove in seven runs. Buckworth had a three-run homer in the third, a three-run triple in the fourth, and an RBI-single in the fifth.

Freshman shortstop Kaitlyn Konopka (Medford, N.J./Shawnee)added a 3-for-4 effort and drove in a pair of runs.

Learic Kinser went 2-for-2 for the Blue Knights.
 
Junior pitcher Tara Hanson (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown) (3.0 IP, 4 H, 2 Ks, 2 BB) (7-3) gained the win for the Rams. Courtney Moore (3.0 IP, 9 H, 7 ER, 2 K, 1 BB) took the loss for the Blue Knights.
 
Sophomore pitcher Kaitlin Munda (Nokesville, Va./Kettle Run/Francis Marion) helped her own cause in the nightcap with a two-run homer to key a five-run third inning for the Rams.
 
Konopka went 2-for-3 and drove three runs to lead the Rams. Buckworth added a pair of hits.
 
Jenna Van Hoose went 2-for-2 to lead Urbana.

Munda  (4.0 IP, 2 H, 2 Ks, 0 BB) (10-4) earned the win for the Rams. Moore (3.1 IP, 9 H, 7 R, 6 ER, 1 K, 0 BB) (0-10) took the loss for Urbana.
 
The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they host Fairmont State for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
