Box Score ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Emily Santoli had three goals and three assists while Cayla Shawfield added three goals and an assist to lead eighth-ranked Florida Southern (10-3) to a 16-7 win over Shepherd University (4-7) in MEC women's lacrosse action at Annapolis High School on Friday.
Senior midfielder/attacker
Erin Phelan (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) led the Rams with a game-high four goals.
Sophomore midfielder
Sarah Wendt (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) had two goals and junior attacker
Brooke Hunley (Monrovia, Md./Linganore) added another. Senior defender/midfielder
Kelsey Phelan (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) had the team's only assist.
Senior goalkeeper
Savannah Shores (Trappe, Md./Easton) recorded 15 saves for the Rams. Taylor Gillis (3) and Paige Brodbeck (2) combined for five saves for the Moccasins
Florida Southern had a 9-3 lead at halftime.
The Moccasins had a 16-8 advantage in draw controls and a 24-13 edge in ground balls. Florida Southern had a 46-14 edge in shots.
The Rams return to action on Sunday when they host Wheeling Jesuit for a 1 p.m. contest.
