SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (8-9, 2-5 MEC) dropped a 7-2 decision to Fairmont State (6-13, 3-4 MEC) in MEC men's tennis action at Cress Creek on Saturday.

Shepherd got a 6-2, 6-3 win from freshman Shane Dempsey (Charleston, W.Va./Nitro) at number two singles and a 7-6, 6-1 triumph by junior Will Wheatley (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) at number three singles.
