Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore forward Samantha Leonard (Conowingo, Md./Perryville) scored on a penalty kick at 89:00 mark to lift Shepherd University (3-1-1, 2-1-1 MEC) to a 1-0 win over Fairmont State (2-3-1, 2-1-1 MEC)  in MEC women's soccer action at Shepherd on Thursday afternoon.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kelsey Rhoderick (Frederick, Md./Governor Thomas Johnson) (2) and sophomore goalkeeper Christi LaBella (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale) (4) combined to record six saves in a shutout effort for the Rams. Shawna Graham had five saves for the Falcons.

Fairmont State had a 13-10 edge in shots, while corner kicks were even at 3-3.

The Rams return to action on Sunday when they travel to West Liberty for a noon contest.
