Box Score 2 URBANA, Ohio – Shepherd University (5-6) went 1-1 in volleyball action at the Urbana University Tournament on Friday. The Rams gained a 3-1 (17-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-14) win over Malone in an early match against and in a later dropped a 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-15) match against Armstrong State.
Freshman outside hitter
Peyton Lindblad (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) had 17 kills and junior outside hitter
Amanda Snowden (Hagerstown, Md./Smithsburg) added 11 to lead the Rams in the win over Malone.
Sophomore setter
Becca Kern (Martinsburg, W.Va./Musselman) had 23 assists and freshman setter
Jessica Karcz (Westminster, Md./Westminster) added 20. Junior libero
Kelsey Anderson (Leesburg, W.Va./Loudoun County) posted a match-high 21 digs.
Faith Lau had 12 kills, while Veronica Gehring and Mallory Adams each added 11 for Malone (2-7).
Snowden had six kills and Lindblad added five against Armstrong State. Anderson contributed 12 digs.
Kim Brody had nine kills and Raegan Grooms had eight to lead Armstrong State (8-1).
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they face host Urbana at noon and Kutztown at 4 p.m. in final day action of the Urbana Tournament.
