Box Score WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – Briella Taylor scored a goal and assisted on another to lead West Liberty (2-3-1, 2-1-1 MEC) to a 3-1 win over Shepherd University (3-2-1, 2-2-1 MEC) in MEC women's soccer action at West Liberty on Sunday afternoon.
Taylor scored on a feed from MacKenzie Ullman at the 5:14 mark to give the Hilltoppers a 1-0 lead.
Taylor assisted on a Thanna Oddo goal at the 8:00 mark and Kaelyn Oskin scored on a pass from Megan Hellmuth at the 24:59 mark to give West Liberty a 3-0 lead at the break.
Junior defender
Brianna Gorman (Clarksburg, Md./Urbana) scored on a corner kick at the 53:58 mark for Shepherd's goal.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Christi LaBella (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale) recorded eight saves for the Rams. Lauren Hartnell had three saves for the Hilltoppers.
West Liberty had a 22-12 advantage in shots and a 7-5 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Sunday when they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan for a 1 p.m. matchup.
