Box Score 2 SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shepherd University (3-3) went 1-1 in a pair of matches in volleyball action of the Shippensburg Tournament on Friday. The Rams dropped a 3-1 decision (25-11, 26-28, 25-23, 27-25) to Philadelphia in an early match and dealt Virginia State a 3-1 (25-23, 24-26, 25-22, 26-24) setback in a later match.

Peyton Lindblad (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) and sophomore middle blocker/right side
Sophie Foster (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) each had 10 kills to lead the Rams against Philadelphia.
Freshman setter
Jessica Karcz (Westminster, Md./Westminster) (20) and sophomore setter
Becca Kern (Martinsburg, W.Va./Musselman) (15) combined for 35 assists. Karcz also added eight digs and a team-best two aces. Junior libero
Kelsey Anderson (Leesburg, W.Va./Loudoun County) recorded a match-high 17 digs.
Courtney Wensel had 19 kills and 10 digs to lead Philadelphia (4-2).
Junior middle hitter
Christine Jackson (Stafford, Va./North Stafford) had 12 kills and a .391 attack percentage to lead the Rams to the win against the Trojans.
Lindblad added 11 kills, while freshman outside hitter
Jaila Bell (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) and Foster each had 10. Anderson added 25 digs, while Kern had 28 assists and three aces.
Alexsys Pullen had 14 kills to lead Virginia State (4-1).
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they face UVa-Wise at 11:30 a.m. and host Shippensburg at 7 p.m. in final day action of the Shippensburg University Tournament.
