Myers Reaches 1,000-Point Mark; Shepherd Women Edged by Concord

Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Lindsey Overbey scored a game-high 20 points to lead Concord (3-15, 2-12 MEC) to a 67-58 win over Shepherd (9-13, 6-8 MEC) in MEC women's basketball action at the Butcher Center on Saturday. Senior forward Liz Myers (York, Pa./Eastern York) reached to 1,000-point mark for her career for the Rams.

Overbey hit on 7-of-11 field goals with a 3-of-4 effort from three-point range. She was 3-of-4 from the foul line.

Myers (1,001) scored nine points to go over the 1,000-point mark. She also grabbed a game-high 10
rebounds.

Senior forward Kristina Prange (Gaithersburg, Md./Damascus) led the Rams with 16 points. Senior guard Cara Mason (Monrovia, Md./Urbana) added 11 points, while junior guard Kayla Tibbs (Leesburg, Va./Heritage) added 10 points.
Sophomore guard Kari Lankford (York, Pa./West  York Area) added six points and a game-high eight assists.

Heather Chapman added 16 points and Emily Boothe had 14 for the Mountain Lions.

A close contest throughout the fourth period, Shepherd rallied to within a points at 57-56 after a layup by Mason with 1:49 remaining . The Rams would get no closer as Concord drained 7-of-8 free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

Shepherd shot 33.8 percent (23-68) from the floor with a 26.3 percent effort (5-19) from three-point range for the game. The Rams shot 53.8 percent (7-13) from the charity stripe.

Concord hit on 41.2 percent (21-51) from the floor with a 27.3 percent (3-11) performance from beyond the arc. The Mountain Lions connected on 84.6 percent (22-26) of their free throws.

Concord had a 47-38 advantage in rebounding. Shepherd forced 19 turnovers and committed 14.

The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host West Liberty for a 5:30 p.m. game.
