Sophomore defender Elishia Davis (Charleston, W.Va./George Washington) scored on an assist from senior defender/midfielder Danielle Fernandez (Clarksburg, Md./Damascus) at the 47:56 mark to give the Rams a 1-0 lead.
Urbana tied the game when Macy Torres scored an unassisted goal at the 81:58 mark.
Kobi Bryant scored on a pass from Bronte Flannery at the 87:02 mark to lift the Blue Knights to the win.
Junior netminder Christi LaBella (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale) recorded a pair of saves for the Rams. Katherine Beech had five saves for the Blue Knights.
Shepherd had an 8-6 advantage in shots and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Notre Dame for a 3 p.m. contest.
