Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SALEM, Va. – Shepherd University (7-4) swept a pair of games in softball action at the Salem Tournament on Friday. The Rams posted a 4-2 win over Mercyhurst in an early game and added an 11-9 triumph over Lock Haven in a later contest.

The Rams plated four runs on three hits, two walks, and an error in the second inning to gain a 4-2 win over Mercyhurst.

Junior pitcher Kaitlin Munda (Nokesville, Va./Kettle Run/Francis Marion) went the distance to gain the win for the Rams.

Sophomore first baseman Connor Gilligan Medford, N.J. Shawnee) went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs to lead the Rams past Lock Haven. Sophomore outfielder Kaitlyn Konopka (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) and sophomore outfielder Morgan Cox (Halifax, Pa./Halifax) each added a pair of hits.

The Rams used an eight-run sixth inning to post the come-from-behind win.

Sophomore pitcher Lori Sturgill (Waldorf, Md./McDonough/College of Southern Maryland) picked up the win in relief.

The Rams return to tournament action on Saturday when they face Bloomsburg at 10 a.m. and Indiana (Pa.) at noon.
