Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – Shepherd University (10-7, 1-3 MEC) dropped a pair of games to 15th-ranked West Virginia Wesleyan (14-2, 2-0 MEC) in MEC softball action at West Virginia Wesleyan on Monday. The Bobcats posted a 4-0 win in game one and added an 8-0 victory in the nightcap.

Tori Pogue went 1-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and Olivia Gore added an 0-for-1 effort with two runs batted in and run scored to lead a three-hit attack for the Bobcats.

Sophomore first baseman Connor Gilligan Medford, N.J. Shawnee) singled in the fourth inning for Shepherd's lone hit.

Junior pitcher Kaitlin Munda (Nokesville, Va./Kettle Run/Francis Marion) (6.0 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 1 ER, 1 K, 1 BB) (4-4) took the loss for the Rams. Hannah Vet (7.0 IP, 1 H, 6 K, 0 BB) (6-0) gained the win for the Bobcats.

Morgan Brucec went 2-for-3 with five runs batted in and a run scored to lead a 10-hit attack for the Bobcats in the nightcap.

Clinging to a 2-0 lead, the Bobcats erupted for six runs in the sixth with a grand slam by Brucec keying the rally.

Senior designated player Paige Buckworth (Elkton, Md./North East) doubled in the first inning for the Rams.

Sophomore pitcher Lori Sturgill (Waldorf, Md./McDonough/College of Southern Maryland) (3.0 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 1 K, 0 BB) (3-1) took the loss. Sayaka Foley (5.0 IP, 1 H, 5 K, 1 BB) (4-1) earned the win for Wesleyan.

The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they host Millersville University for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
