Box Score JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – Shepherd University (33-22) scored seven runs in the seventh inning to pull away for a 10-3 win over Seton Hill (36-19) in NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Baseball Championship action at Russell Diethrick Park in Jamestown, N.Y. on Thursday.
Seton Hill took a 1-0 lead in the second as Mark Colella singled, stole second, and scored on a double down the left field line by Sam Vilk.
The Griffins added a run in the third as Craig Lewis tripled down the right field line and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Tyler Sullivan.
Shepherd tied the game with a pair of runs in the fourth. Senior outfielder
Ron Farley (Cockeysville, Md./Calvert Hall/Delaware Tech) singled and junior catcher
Dalton Haymaker (New Oxford, Pa./Delone Catholic/Frederick CC) walked. Freshman shortstop
Trenton Burgreen (Winchester, Va./Millbrook) followed with a two-run triple.
The Rams took a 3-2 lead in the sixth as Burgreen singled, stole second, and moved to third on a passed ball. Burgreen scored when freshman outfielder
Brenton Doyle (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) reached on an error.

Jacob Carney (Stephens City, Va./Sherando) had a two-run single and senior outfielder
JJ Sarty (Purcellville, Va./Woodgrove/William& Mary) added a two-run double to key the rally.
Seton Hill added a run in the bottom of the frame on an RBI-single by Vilk.
Carney went 3-for-5 to pace a 12-hit effort for the Rams. Farley and Burgreen each added a pair of hits.
Colella went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored to pace the Griffins.
Junior pitcher
Ryan Pansch (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) (7.0 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 4 K, 0 BB) (10-0) earned the win for the Rams. Seton Hill starter Joe Shaffer (5.2 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 7 K, 5 BB) (2-4) took the loss.
The Rams return to action on Friday at 7 p.m. when they take on the winner of today's West Chester-Winston-Salem State game.
