Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Juwon Akintunde scored three goals and Luca Falconeri added a goal and three assists to lead West Virginia Wesleyan (3-0-1, 2-0-0 MEC) to a 9-0 win over Shepherd University (0-3-1, 0-1-0 MEC) in men's soccer action at Shepherd on Sunday afternoon.
The Bobcats held a 3-0 lead at the break behind first half goals from Josh Spencer, Akintunde, and Hazuki Hashizume.
Akintunde had two second half tallies, while Falconeri, Matt Bentley, Paul Smith, and Guillermo Rueda each netted a goal.
Freshman goalkeeper Jacob Dougal (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) recorded seven saves for the Rams, while Alessandro Aremenia (2) and Cooper Zent (0) combined to post a pair of saves for the Bobcats.
West Virginia Wesleyan had a 31-3 advantage in shots and an 8-0 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Thursday when they travel to Urbana for a 3 p.m. contest.
