Shepherd Volleyball Goes 1-1 at Kutztown Classic

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Shepherd University (7-2) split a pair of matches in volleyball action on Friday at the Kutztown Classic. The Rams earned a 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-11) win over Goldey-Beacom in an early match, and dropped a 3-2 (21-25, 16-25, 25-14, 25-17, 15-9) decision to host Kutztown in a later contest.

Sophomore outside hitter Cambriea Hill (Columbia, Md./Hammond) had eight kills, while senior outside hitter Amanda Snowden (Hagerstown, Md./Smithsburg) and senior middle hitter Christine Jackson (Stafford, Va./North Stafford)  each added five in the win over Goldey-Beacom (2-5).

Sophomore libero Imani Major (Gainesville, Va./Millbrook) had a match-high 17 digs, while sophomore middle blocker Seone Goode (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) added 10. Freshman middle hitter Nicole Murray (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) had eight blocks (one solo), while sophomore setter Jessica Karcz (Westminster, Md./Westminster) contributed 18 assists.

Breanne Haley had nine kills and 12 digs to lead Goldey-Beacom. Morgan Andrews added 11 digs.

Hill had 15 kills and 11 digs, while Karcz added 33 assists and 11 digs to lead the Rams against Kutztown (4-6).

Snowden posted 11 kills, while Major added 16 digs.

Brittany Moyer had 19 kills and Alli Henderson added 18 to lead Kutztown. Sydney Wilson added 18 digs.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they face West Chester at 11 a.m. and Caldwell at 1:30 p.m. in final day action of the Kutztown Classic.
