WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – Senior midfielder/forward Taylor Harwood (Capon Bridge, W.Va./Hampshire) scored a pair of goals to lead Shepherd (2-2-2, 2-1-2 MEC) to a 2-0 win over West Liberty (2-4-1, 1-4-1 MEC) in MEC women's soccer action at West Liberty on Wednesday. After a scoreless first half Harwood gave Shepherd a 1-0 lead at the 56:01 mark on a feed from freshman defender Katherine Eddy (Charleston, W.Va./George Washington). Harwood added a goal minutes later on a pass from sophomore forward/midfielder Brogran Pifer (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington).   Junior netminder Christi LaBella (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale) recorded seven saves for the Rams en route to her third shutout effort of the season.  Laura Hartnell had a pair of saves for the Hilltoppers. West Liberty had an 11-9 edge in shots and a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. The Rams return to action on Sunday when they host Fairmont State at noon.
