Notre Dame opened up the second half scoring when Lauren Chaney scored on an assist from Katarina Doncevis at the 56:32 mark.
The Falcons took a 2-1 lead when Na'pier Ramsey scored an unassisted goal at the 58:11 mark.
Shepherd gained the tie on an unassisted goal by senior defender/midfielder
Danielle Fernandez (Clarksburg, Md./Damascus) at the 67:30 mark.
Junior netminder
Christi LaBella (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale) recorded five saves for the Rams. Abigail Quesnelle had four saves for the Falcons.
Shots were even at nine apiece and Notre Dame had a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit for an 8 p.m. contest.
