Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Junior forward Alejandro Oliart (Germantown, Md./Northwest/Hagerstown CC) recorded a hat trick, but Shepherd University (0-1-1) dropped a 5-3 decision to Lock Haven (1-0-1) in men's soccer action at Lock Haven on Monday afternoon.
Shepherd took a 1-0 lead at the 18:11 mark when Oliart scored on an assist by senior midfielder Luis Prado (Barquisimeto, Venezuela/Rioclaro/Montgomery College).
Reggie Holt scored back-to-back goals in less than two minutes (20:34 and 22:00) to give the Bald Eagles a 2-1 advantage.
Oliart tied the game at 2-2 on an unassisted goal at the 37:14 mark.
Lock Haven took a 3-2 lead into intermission as Andrew Moore scored on a feed from Alec Mapoy at the 42:57 mark.
Beckham Sibiski scored at the 49:01 mark and Tyler Shumaker tallied another at the 73:30 mark for the Bald Eagles.
Oliart notched his third goal of the day on a feed from senior forward Jeff Kammerer (Woodstock, Md./Marriotts Ridge) at the 81:40 mark.
Freshman goalkeeper Jacob Dougal (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) recorded seven saves for the Rams, while Troy Teresak did not post a save in goal for the Bald Eagles.
Lock Haven had a 22-4 advantage in shots and a 12-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Thursday when they travel to Seton Hill for a 4 p.m. contest.
