Shepherd Volleyball Splits Pair at Shepherd Showdown

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University split a pair of matches in volleyball action at the Shepherd Showdown on Friday night at the Butcher Center. The Rams handed Lock Haven a 3-1 (25-18, 25-23, 22-25, 25-17) setback in an early match, and dropped a 3-2 (21-25, 25-20, 11-25, 25-21, 15-12) decision to Ursuline in a later matchup.

Sophomore outside hitter Cambriea Hill (Columbia, Md./Hammond) had a match-high 17 kills and  14 digs to pace the Rams against Lock Haven (2-4).

Senior middle hitter Christine Jackson (Stafford, Va./North Stafford) had eight kills and four blocks, while senior outside hitter Amanda Snowden (Hagerstown, Md./Smithsburg) posted 12 kills and five digs.

Sophomore middle blocker Seone Goode (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) had 14 digs, while sophomore setter Jessica Karcz (Westminster, Md./Westminster) contributed 46 assists, 11 digs, and three aces.

Freshman libero Milleysha Molina-Otero (Fairfax, Va./Chantilly) had  team-high 18 digs

Breanna McDonald had 15 kills and Shaye Whiteman had a match-high 20 digs for Lock Haven. Kristin Nealon added 31 assists.

Hill had 16 kills and 17 digs against Ursuline, while Jackson added 11 kills and four blocks.

Karcz had 37 assists and 15 digs and Major posted a match-high 25 digs.

Victoria Henderson had 19 kills and 22 digs to lead Ursuline (3-1). Katelyn Selleny added 38 assists and 11 digs.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they face Alderson Broaddus at 3 p.m. and Virginia State at 8 p.m. in final day action of the Shepherd Showdown.
