Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Marisa Finazzo scored 14 points and Seina Adachi added 13 to lead Notre Dame (11-5, 7-2 MEC) to an 85-52 win over Shepherd (8-7, 4-5 MEC) in MEC women's basketball action at Notre Dame on Thursday.
Freshman forward Sydney Clayton (Frederick, Md./St. John's) scored a career-high 18 points and senior guard Morgan Arden (Hanover, Pa./Spring Grove) added 17 to pace the Rams. Clayton hit on 7-of-13 field goals with a 4-of-5 performance from the charity stripe. Arden connected on 7-of-16 field goals with a 1-of-2 effort from beyond the arc. She was 2-of-2 from the line. Arden added seven rebounds and four assists, while Clayton had six boards, two blocks, and two steals.
Kim Cook added 12 points and Maggie King had 11 as Notre Dame had four starters score in double figures.
The Falcons opened the game on a 19-5 run and took a 46-18 lead into the break.
Shepherd shot 37.3 percent (19-51) from the floor with a 30 percent effort (3-10) from three-point range for the game. The Rams drained 73.3 percent (11-15) of their free throws.
Notre Dame hit on 54.1 percent (33-61) from the floor with a 43.5 percent (10-23) performance from beyond the arc. The Falcons connected on 81.8 percent (9-11) of their free throws.
Notre Dame had a 37-25 advantage in rebounds. The Rams forced 19 turnovers and committed 21.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Urbana for a 2 p.m. contest.
