BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Sixty-three Shepherd University student-athletes have earned academic honors from the Mountain East Conference as announced today by the league office. Thirty-three Shepherd student-athletes were selected to the All-MEC Academic Team and 30 more were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll for the Fall 2017 semester.

Graduate student long snapper Nick Barmoy (Owings Mills, Md./Baltimore Lutheran), sophomore running back Deonte Glover (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman/WVU), junior quarterback Nic Hammer (Jarrettsville, Md./North Harford), senior defensive end Myles Humphrey (Upper Marlboro, Md./Dr. Henry A. Wise), freshman defensive lineman John Kelly (Riverdale, Ga./Mindy's Mill), freshman tight end Michael McCook (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown), freshman defensive lineman Ricky Robinson (Matthias, W.Va./East Hardy), freshman defensive lineman Alexander Ronk (Ashburn, Va./Briar Woods), junior offensive lineman Isaiah Tetteh (Woodbridge, Va./Freedom),  junior punter Ruan Venter (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown), senior kicker Zachary Wise (Berkeley Springs, W.Va./Berkeley Springs),and freshman defensive back Jarrette Zopp (Elkins, W.Va./Elkins) of the football team earned All-MEC Academic Team honors.

Sophomore Owen Elliott (Hedgesville, W.Va./Hedgesville/Marshall), sophomore Michael Graessle (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll), and freshman Kyle Littleton (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) of the men's golf team earned All-MEC Academic Team honors.

Senior midfielder Kevin Bonanno (Frederick, Md/Tuscarora), senior midfielder Nathan Borowski (Columbia, Md/Hammond), junior forward Alejandro Oliart (Germantown, Md./Northwest/Hagerstown CC), senior midfielder Luis Prado (Barquisimeto, Venezuela/Rioclaro/Montgomery College), freshman defender Preston Porter (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) and junior midfielder Anthony Wenner (Shepherdstown, W.Va./Jefferson) of the men's soccer team were named to the All-MEC Academic Team.

Freshman midfielder Emma Bernardoni (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) sophomore defender Elishia Davis (Charleston, W.Va./George Washington), freshman defender Katherine Eddy (Charleston, W.Va./George Washington), senior defender/midfielder Danielle Fernandez (Clarksburg, Md./Damascus),  senior defender Brianna Gorman (Clarksburg, Md./Urbana), senior midfielder/forward Taylor Harwood (Capon Bridge, W.Va./Hampshire), and sophomore defender/midfielder Maria Radcliffe (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown) of the women's soccer team gained All-MEC Academic Team honors.

Junior Anna Bock (Hedgesville, W.Va./Hedgesville) of the women's tennis team gained All-MEC Academic Team honors.

Senior middle hitter Christine Jackson (Stafford, Md./North Stafford), junior setter Becca Kern (Martinsburg, W.Va./Musselman), sophomore outside hitter Peyton Lindblad (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend), and sophomore libero Imani Major (Gainesville, Va./Millbrook) of the volleyball team were named to the All-MEC Academic Team.

Freshman defensive lineman sophomore defensive back Raughn Carter (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown), senior offensive lineman Jaime Colon (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend), sophomore quarterback Tyler Crounse (Lusby, Md./Patuxent), redshirt-freshman quarterback Stephan Curran (Galena, Md./Kent County), freshman defensive back Ponce DeLeon (Greenbelt, Md./Montgomery Blair), redshirt-freshman linebacker David Eppard (Winchester, Va./Sherando), sophomore kicker Brendan Feehan (Haymarket, Va./Battlefield), freshman running back Ty Hebron (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery), freshman linebacker Elijah Hutchinson (Smyrna, Del./Smynra), freshman linebacker Josh Hutchinson (Smyrna, Del./Smynra), redshirt-freshman wide receiver Kyle McKeever (Bel Air, Md./Fallston), junior running back Bradley Rinehart (Middletown, Md./Middletown), sophomore defensive lineman Stefanos Stefanidis (Adelaide South Australia, Australia/Xavier College), junior long snapper Tyler Stern (Reisterstown, Md./Franklin), freshman defensive lineman Russell Tanson (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield), redshirt-freshman offensive lineman Cole Weaver (Keyser, W.Va./Keyser), senior wide receiver Jerimiah Williams (Washington, D.C./McKinley Tech/Delaware State), and junior tight end Dalton Ziemba (Newark, Del./St. Mark's) were recognized as members of the Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Senior forward Jeff Kammerer (Woodstock, Md./Marriotts Ridge), freshman midfielder Adam Rice (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax), sophomore defender Andres Villalon (Leesburg, Va./Heritage), and sophomore forward Ryan Ziniach (Hagerstown, Md./St. Maria Goretti) of the men's soccer team were chosen to the Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Freshman midfielder Julia Ivey (Oak Hill, W.Va./Oak Hill) and senior goalkeeper Christi LaBella (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale) of the women's soccer team were selected to the Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Junior Alisha Adkins (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown), junior Nicolette Bruley (Centreville, Va./Westfield), and junior Zoie O'Neal (Hagerstown, Md./Clear Spring) of the women's tennis team were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Sophomore outside hitter Seone Goode (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend), freshman libero  Milleysha Molina-Otero (Fairfax, Va./Chantilly) and senior outside hitter Amanda Snowden (Hagerstown, Md./Smithsburg/Frostburg State) of the volleyball team garnered Commissioner's Honor Roll accolades.

To be a member of the All-MEC Academic Team, the student-athlete must be a member of the active roster and have a grade-point average of 3.70-4.00 in the semester of their championship season. To qualify for the Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a member of the active roster and post a grade point average of 3.25-3.69 in the semester of their championship season.

Nearly 900 student-athletes were honored by the MEC, including 425 who earned All-MEC Academic Team honors in the nine sports included.
