INSTITUTE, W.Va. – Shepherd University (2-3, 1-0 MEC) gained a 7-2 triumph over West Virginia State (0-5, 0-1 MEC) in MEC men's tennis action at West Virginia State on Saturday.
Sophomore Carter Davis (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Martinsburg) posted a 6-1, 6-0 win at number one singles and teamed with freshman Evan Dokken (Winchester, Va./James Wood) for an 8-0 win at number one doubles for the Rams. Senior Austin Thomas (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) recorded a 6-0, 6-0 victory at number six singles.
The Rams return to action on Sunday when they travel to Charleston for a 1 p.m. match.
