Box Score 2 SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (26-12) split with Lock Haven (22-10) in softball doubleheader action at Sara Cree Field on Tuesday. Shepherd plated two runs in the bottom of the seventh to gain a 5-4 win in the nightcap, while the Bald Eagles gained a 5-2 win in game one. The Shepherd win snapped a 15-game winning streak for Lock Haven.
Lock Haven took a 2-0 lead in the second inning in the nightcap on a two-run double by Casey Carpenter.
Shepherd cut the lead to 2-1 in the third. Senior
Kaitlin Munda (Nokesville, Va./Kettle Run/Francis Marion) reached on a hit-by-pitch and scored on a double by junior outfielder
Kaitlyn Konopka (Medford, N.J./Shawnee).
Lock Haven added two runs in the sixth as Bryann Hilty had an RBI-triple and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Amanda Loar.
Shepherd score twice in the sixth to cut the lead to 4-3. Sophomore pitcher
Taylor Stocks (Bunker Hill, W.Va./Musselman/Fordham) walked with the bases loaded to score a run and Konopka drove in a run on a groundout.
The Rams rallied in the seventh for the win. Junior catcher

Leann Brown (Hume, Va./Fauquier) walked and Sturgill reached on a fielder's choice when Taylor was forced at third. Junior first baseman
Connor Gilligan (Medford, N.J. Shawnee) fouled out and junior outfielder
Alexis Shearer (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg Area/Hagerstown CC) followed with an infield single. Junior catcher Keslie Weaver (York, Pa./West York) walked with the bases loaded to score Brown and Stocks followed with a single to center to plate Sturgill with the game-winner.
Sturgill went 3-for-4 with two runs scored to lead the Rams.
Hilty went 3-for-3 and Carpenter was 2-for-3 for the Bald Eagles.
Stocks (1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 K, 0 BB) (3-3) gained the win. Taryn Williams (0.2 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 1 K, 3 BB) (1-2) took the loss for the Bald Eagles.
Lock Haven scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning and held on for a 5-2 win in game one.
Moriah Lindsey went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored to lead the Bald Eagles.

Morgan Cox (Halifax, Pa./Halifax) with a 3-for-4 effort.
Sturgill (8.0 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 2 K, 2 BB) (10-5) took the loss. Bekah Slattery (8.0 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 4 K, 4 BB) (10-4) got the win.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Fairmont State for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
