Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Callie Kavanaugh scored five goals, while Sabrina Fusco added four to lead Millersville (8-4) to an 18-4 win over Shepherd (4-4) in women's lacrosse action at Ram Stadium on Monday.
Sophomore attacker/midfielder Lillian Funke (Hagerstown, Md./Boonsboro) led the Rams with a pair of goals. Senior midfielder Sarah Wendt (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) added a goal and a match-high five draw controls. Sophomore midfielder Elishia Davis (Charleston, W.Va./George Washington) tallied a goal, while freshman attacker Regan Brown (Reisterstown, Md./Manchester Valley) recorded an assist.
Genevieve Speights added three goals and Kristen Butzner contributed a goal and five assists for the Marauders.
Millersville had an 8-2 lead at halftime as Kavanaugh had two first-half tallies.
Millersville had a 37-13 edge in shots, while Shepherd held a 13-10 edge in draw controls. Millersville had a 23-16 advantage in ground balls. Shepherd was 15-of-21 in clears, while Millersville was 25-of-26.
Senior goalkeeper Casey Hickman (Ijamsville, Md./Urbana) had eight saves for the Rams, while Shannon Davis recorded eight saves for the Marauders.
The Rams return to action on Sunday when they host West Virginia Wesleyan for a 1 p.m. match.
