LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Four members of the Shepherd University volleyball team have earned PSAC honors as announced by the league office today. Senior outside hitter Peyton Lindblad (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) garnered first team All-PSAC honors, while senior outside hitter Cambriea Hill (Columbia, Md./Hammond) and senior libero Imani Major (Gainesville, Va./Millbrook) earned second team honors. Additionally, freshman middle blocker Elyssia Smith (Fredericksburg, Va./Colonial Forge) was selected as PSAC East Freshman of the Year.
All-conference teams and major award winners were decided by a vote of the league's head coaches.
Lindblad gained first team All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season. Lindblad leads the Rams in kills (410), kills per set (3.47), aces per set (0.46), and ties teammate Jessica Karcz with a team-best 54 aces. She adds 119 digs, 61 blocks (5 solo), and eight assists.
Hill recorded 325 kills with a .216 attack percentage. She adds 248 digs, 46 blocks (4 solo), 38 aces, and 17 assists. She gained All-Conference honors for the third time in her career.
Major led the Rams with 600 digs and a 5.31 digs per set average. She adds 108 assists, 37 aces, and three kills. The two-time PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week earned All-Conference honors for the second time in her career.
Smith was tabbed Freshman of the Year. She is the first Ram athlete to earn a major award in any sport since Shepherd transitioned to the PSAC in July 2019. Smith sits seventh in the league in blocks per set (1.01). She leads the Rams in solo blocks (25), and ranks second in block assists (71) and total blocks (96). The freshman has turned in five or more blocks on 13 occasions this season. Offensively, she has accumulated 146 kills and a hitting percentage of .244. Smith turned in a season-high 11 kills in a five-set win against West Chester (Nov. 15).
The Rams return to action on Friday when they face host Gannon at 7:30 p.m. in semifinal action of the PSAC Tournament.
