SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- The Shepherd University tennis teams split a pair of matches with UVa-Wise at Shepherd on Saturday. The Shepherd men (2-9, 1-3, MEC) recorded a 6-1 win, while the women (2-9, 0-4 MEC) dropped a 6-1 decision.

The Shepherd men got singles wins from junior Carter Davis (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Martinsburg), sophomore Evan Dokken (Winchester, Va./James Wood ), junior Kaleb Lochner (Shepherdstown, W.Va./Jefferson), freshman Ryan Cox (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman), and sophomore Nicholas Ferony (Bowie, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti).

Additionally, Davis and Dokken posted a win at number one doubles and Lochner and Cox teamed for a win at number two doubles.

Senior Olivia Scott (Stephens City, Va./Sherando) posted a 7-6, 6-4 win at number five singles to lead the women.

The Shepherd men and women return to action on Sunday when they host Millersville for a 1 p.m. match.
