BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- The Shepherd University tennis teams dropped a pair of matches to West Virginia Wesleyan at West Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday. The Shepherd men (1-6, 0-2 MEC) came up short on a 6-1 score, while the women (2-5, 0-2 MEC) dropped a 7-0 decision.

Junior Carter Davis (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Martinsburg) posted a 6-2, 6-3 win at number one singles  for the men's team.

The Shepherd men and women return to action on Wednesday when they travel to West Liberty for a 2 p.m. match.
