WINCHESTER, Va. -- Shepherd University (2-3) handed host Shenandoah University (2-1) a  6-3 setback in women's tennis action at Shenandoah on Friday evening.

Shepherd got singles wins for freshman Chloe Hudson (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport), freshman Morgan Burner (Winchester, Va./James Wood), freshman Ally Frushour (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) and freshman Anna Ours (Shepherdstown, W.Va./Jefferson).

Burner and Hudson teamed for an 8-2 win at number two singles while Ours and freshman Keana McManus (Falling Waters, W.Va./Spring Mills) combined for an 8-1 triumph at number three doubles.

The Rams return to action on March 15 when they travel to Hilton Head to face a yet to be determined opponent.
