Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Falls at Bloomsburg

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. –  Anna Dempsey scored four goals and Haley Williams added three to lead Bloomsburg (4-1, 1-0 PSAC East) to a 17-5 win over Shepherd (3-2, 0-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Bloomsburg on Wednesday.

Kelsey Clause, Annie Rollins, Abby Bergman and Cailyn Gormley each added a pair of goals for the Huskies.

Junior attacker Sidney Kelly (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) and junior attacker Regan Brown (Reisterstown, Md./Manchester Valley) each had a goal and an assist to lead the Rams.

Senior attacker/midfielder Jordan Sauro (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll/Shippensburg),  sophomore midfielder Katherine Campbell (Montgomery Village, Md./Watkins Mill), and sophomore midfielder Kira Barth (Sykesville, Md./Century) each added a goal.

Senior defender Lyric Feingold-Conaway (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) led the defense with five ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Bloomsburg led 7-2 at halftime.

The Rams scored three of the first four goals in the second half to cut the lead to 8-5 after Kelly scored on a feed from Brown at the 23:43 mark. Bloomsburg proceeded to score nine unanswered goals to close the game.

Sophomore goalkeeper Hailey Bennett (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) posted 11 saves for the Rams. Angela Di Pasquale recorded four saves for Huskies.

Bloomsburg had a 38-16 edge in shots and had a 20-17 advantage in ground balls. Bloomsburg had a 17-6 edge in draw controls. Shepherd was 23-of-29 in clears, while Bloomsburg was 17-of-17.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Shippensburg for a 1 p.m. contest.
