Sara Cree Field was officially given its name on April 14, 2018 in a ceremony in between games of a doubleheader between Shepherd and Concord. The field has served as the home of the Shepherd softball program since 1990. The field is named after former Shepherd physical education administrator Dr. Sara H. Cree, who served at Shepherd from 1940-72. She was inducted into the Shepherd Athletic Hall of Fame in 1994.
