SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University Vice President for Athletics Chauncey Winbush announced today that Amy Bell has been named Assistant Athletics Director/Director of Compliance/Senior Women's Administrator.
Bell recently gained valuable experience working in management and marketing. She also had a stint with the Colorado State Patrol.
"We are always excited to welcome home a former Ram," said Winbush. "I believe Amy will show an incredible dedication to our athletic goals and most importantly to the tremendous student-athletes that we have the honor to serve each-and-every day."
Bell served as head women's soccer coach at Western Colorado from 2016-19. She also worked in an administrative capacity assisting with compliance, game-day management, and day-to-day operations.
After starting as an assistant coach with both the men's and women's soccer programs in 2011 at Chowan, Bell was named the head women's soccer coach in 2012. Her five-year stint at Chowan included administrative duties with compliance, game-day administration, and sports information.
Bell started her coaching career as a graduate assistant with the women's soccer program at Wheeling Jesuit. She also assisted with compliance.
A 2009 Shepherd graduate, Bell was a four-year standout goalkeeper for the women's soccer team. A two-year team captain, Bell led the team in saves all four seasons and recorded 17 shutouts over her career.
She gained her MBA from Wheeling Jesuit in 2011.
