SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University split a pair of tennis matches with Frostburg State at Shepherd on Friday. Frostburg State gained a 7-0 win in the men's competition, while Shepherd captured a 4-3 victory in women's action.
The women's team got singles wins from junior Ally Frushour (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) Junior Morgan Burner (Winchester, Va./James Wood), and sophomore Johnna Smith (Buckhannon, W.Va./Buckhannon-Upshur).
Frushour and Burner combined for a 6-3 win at number two doubles while Smith and sophomore Quinn Madden (Cumberland, Md./Allegany) teamed up for a 6-3 triumph at number three doubles to lift the Rams to the win.
