SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shepherd University (4-10-2, 3-10-2 PSAC East) battled to a 2-2 tie with Shippensburg (4-11-2, 4-9-2 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shippensburg on Monday.
Shippensburg took a 1-0 lead when Allie Christman scored on an assist from Abbi Czarnecki at the 49:28 mark.
Shepherd tied the game when freshman midfielder Delaney Bittner (York, Pa./Red Lion Area Senior) scored on an assist from sophomore midfielder/forward Paris Kimbrell (Martinsburg, W.Va./Hedgesville) at the 49:42 mark.
Shepherd took a 2-1 advantage when Kimbrell scored on a feed from Bittner at the 52:34 mark.
Shippensburg forced the extra session when Christman scored on header off a pass from K.K. O'Donnell at the 75:22 mark.
Sophomore goalkeeper Faith Geraci (Keedysville, Md./Boonsboro) recorded a career-high 13 saves for the Rams. Kendra Barlow posted a pair of saves for the Raiders.
Shippensburg had a 26-7 advantage in shots and a 15-5 edge in shots on goal. Shippensburg had a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a 2:30 p.m. game.
