LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – Sophomore guard Daniel McClain-Corley (Clinton, Md./Massanutten Military Academy) scored a game-high 26 points and senior guard Cam Stephens (Bunker Hill, W.Va./Musselman) tossed in 20 to lead Shepherd University (3-1) to 78-74 win over Lincoln University (2-2) in men's basketball action Lincoln on Saturday afternoon.
McClain-Corley connected on 9-of-12 field goals with a 3-of-5 effort from three-point range. He connected on 5-of-5 free throws.
Junior guard Jon Preston (Brandywine, Md./Rock Creek Christian) added 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Zahrion Blue had 21 points and seven rebounds for the Lions. Korey Williams, and Bernard Lightsey each had 16 points, while Alex Nunnally had 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Shepherd connected on 51.9 percent (27-52) from the floor with a 29.4 percent (5-17) performance from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit 63.3 percent (19-30) of their free throws.
Lincoln shot 37.7 percent (26-69) from the floor with a 32.1 percent effort (9-28) from three-point range. The Lions shot 59.1 percent (13-22) from the foul line.
Lincoln had a 45-35 edge in rebounding. Shepherd forced 16 turnovers and committed14. Shepherd had four steals and Lincoln recorded eight.
The Rams return to action on Sunday, Nov 28 when they host West Virginia Wesleyan for a 1 p.m. contest.
