AFCA Release

WACO, TEXAS
 — Junior quarterback Tyson Bagent (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) and junior offensive tackle Joey Fisher (Hagerstown, Md./Clear Spring) of the Shepherd University football team have been named to the 2021 AFCA Division II Coaches' All-America Teams as announced today by the American Football Coaches Association. Bagent gained first team honors while Fisher was named to the second team.

The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all five of its divisions. What makes these teams so special is that they are the only ones chosen exclusively by the men who know the players the best — the coaches themselves.

Bagent, a Harlon Hill Trophy finalist, has led the Rams to NCAA Division II semifinals with a 12-1 record. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year leads the nation in total offense (345.5 ypg), passing yards (4,751), passing touchdowns (52), and points responsible for (332).

Fisher keys an offensive line that helps Shepherd lead all NCAA II schools in third down conversion (.558), first down offense (352), and scoring offense (46.4). The Rams also rank second nationally in total offense (541.8) and third in passing offense (343.6).

The Rams (13-1) return to action on Saturday when they travel to top-ranked Ferris State for a 3:30 p.m. contest in the national semifinals.
