Former Shepherd University running back Deonte Glover was drafted in the third round (23rd overall) by the Edmonton Football Team in the 2021 Canadian Football League Draft.

Glover gained first team All-PSAC East honors as he led the Rams with 200 rushes for 1,349 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2019. He added 34 receptions for 385 yards and three touchdowns and 11 kick returns for 354 yards and a touchdown. Glover ranked fourth nationally in total points scored (138), total touchdowns (23), and rushing touchdowns (19) and seventh in scoring (10.6).
