Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Team, Players Honored by IWLCA

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Shepherd University women's lacrosse team and a trio of players have been honored by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). The team was named to the 2021 IWLCA Academic Honor Squad for posting a 3.2 grade point average or higher for the academic year. Additionally, junior midfielder Kira Barth (Sykesville, Md./Century), junior midfielder Katherine Campbell (Montgomery Village, Md./Watkins Mill), and graduate student attacker Sidney Kelly (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) were named to the 2021 IWLCA Division II Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must have reached junior status or higher with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or greater.

Barth appeared and started in all 10 games. She had nine goals and three assists for 12 points. She added 17 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers, and eight draw controls. Her five free position goals tied for the team lead. 

Campbell appeared and started in all 10 games. She had 12 goals and four assists for 16 points. She added 10 ground balls, three caused turnovers, and three draw controls. 

Kelly appeared and started in all 10 games. She recorded 14 goals and a team-best 13 assists for a team-best 27 points. She added five draw controls, one caused turnover, and a ground ball.
